Ammonia water is mainly used as fertilizer, suitable for various soils and crops. The concentration of ammonia water that can be safely absorbed by crops is <0.05%. In order to reduce ammonia volatilization and alkalinity, carbon dioxide is sometimes introduced into ammonia water in agriculture to produce carbonated ammonia water, with an ammonia content generally greater than 15%.
